“Quarantine Diary 08.04. - 05-05.20“

@noceur_diary is a digital visual diary from the time of the COVID-19 quarantine, published on Instagram from April 8 to May 5, 2020. The Quarantine Diary is a collaborative project created by Gosia Jagiello with the help of Kozue Kawamura (florist) and Hiroyoshi Tomite (writer), who all lived together during this period of social isolation.

It was time to find a way to coexist with others and allay their needs and anxieties. Boredom, frustration, anger and stress were common feelings during that period. In this state of near-complete lack of contact between these three individuals and the rest of society, they have learned to live and work together in harmony. Quarantine became, for them, a great opportunity for creative and intellectual exchange. They were left with just their existing tools and skills, trying to find beauty in what surrounds them, and appreciating their everyday lives through photography and poetry. New challenges have appeared, and flowers that stimulate the brain's chemicals – dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin – have become a tool to relieve these three people's stress and lift their spirits, giving them a connection to nature, to the world around them.
